The non-contacting Thermo Scientific SGD-O rapidly indicates variations in slurry density and proppant concentration in the oilfield during fracturing and cementing operations. It is engineered to endure high shock and vibration as well as withstand the extreme moisture and high humidity of oilfield environments.
The SGD-O is comprised of three components: the source and detector work together to measure the fluid density while the remotely located electronic transmitter provides a clear digital display of the measurement. This advanced gauge measures through any pipe thickness, with the detector providing response in three to five seconds and accuracy of ±0.1 pounds per gallon. The transmitter can be mounted up to 100 feet away from the gauge to ensure worker safety.
