Thermo Scientific 6400 Level System

The highly accurate 6400 Level System provides continuous, economical performance by simultaneously monitoring up to 64 fly ash hoppers. It combines digital signal and pulse counting techniques with a specialized microprocessor to create a level monitoring system with self-diagnostic features. This rugged device enables plant personnel to verify the operating status of several level switches at a single, centralized indicator panel and displays the actual number of detector counts received from any designated hopper. It sets all indicators (green, red, flashing or off), tests all internal counting circuit electronics and indicates the status of each channel. The reliable system also activates a common alarm light when needed.

With the ability to automatically signal an alarm condition, it does not require personnel inspection. If process problems occur, such as wall buildup or equipment failure, the system identifies and localizes the problem. There is also no need for preamplifier electronics at the detector and no need to adjust a potentiometer since all adjustments are made digitally on switches. Installation is simple because the detectors do not require expensive overhead welding of mounting hardware on the dual-beam source heads nor does the hopper lagging need to be cut. Should a power failure occur, the unique detector count comparison system will indicate discrepancies to facilitate operation.
