Nanospray LC/MS is the definitive method for protein identification by mass spectrometry. An unknown sample, typically from a 2D gel, is proteolytically digested and loaded on a nanobore separation column at very low flowrate. Peptides are resolved and sequenced, yielding a protein identification. Nanobore columns, typically 75μm internal diameter, require very low flowrates and are prone to plugging and fouling.
PepFinder Kit eliminates all of these issues. Incorporation of a peptide trap allows sample loading and desalting at high flowrates, greatly reducing overall analysis times. It boosts sensitivity by concentrating peptides from dilute sample solutions. Further, the peptide trap dramatically improves overall method robustness, protecting the fragile nanobore column.
