Functional Description

Thermo Scientific's Process Audit and Calibration  (PACT) software is an easy-to-use software package that provides a unique method of analysis and subsequent automatic implementation of calibrations into your CrossBelt online analyzer system.

The package compares the results of your CrossBelt online analyzer with a laboratory, provides both a statistical and graphical data analysis and suggests a calibration. Once reviewed by an operator, the suggested calibration can be automatically implemented. The information typically is used as a calibration reference is the results of the daily, or shift, sample analysis by laboratory X-Ray Fluorescence.

The PACT software provides the means to collect and store CrossBelt analyzer data automatically and X-Ray system data either manually or automatically, through a network connection. The calibration analysis is accomplished through a variety of screens and methods. Best-fit parameters for each oxide are generated, again with statistics. Once reviewed, the system can also automatically implement the calibration.

Data Analysis

Software automatically generates XY plots, time series plots and time series difference plots, as well as regression and comparison statistics. The program also allows graphical exclusion of outliers, if desired.

Data Collection

Automatic
If laboratory analysis information is available in file format on a plant network, it can be loaded into the PACT software automatically. An associated mapping is made between the data in the file and the PACT software.

Manual
Reference data can also be programmed into the PACT software manually through an input screen

In either case, the data is "time aligned" so that the time of the sample collection corresponds to the time the material was measured by the CrossBelt analyzer system. Data can also be filtered statistically or graphically for outliers, if desired.

Calibration

Once the data has been analyzed, the system provides the suggested parameters to automatically implement and store the calibration when ready.
